a/  The recording has been successfully completed and is "in the can", or b/  The recording session has been suspended due to "ill health" or a previous commitment, or c/  The band has broken up, or d/  The engineer has quit, or e/  The producer has quit, or f/   The producer has fired the engineer, or g/  The band has fired the producer h/  All of the above and the record will never see the light of day
